New Beginnings

One of my resolutions for 2024 was writing a blog post per month. While that doesn’t sound like very much, on top of caring for two little ones, easing back into the workforce and living life, it was something I always failed to do.

I have been blogging for a long time. My blogging journey began in 2015 when I moved from Austria to London and looked for a way to journal my travels, as well as keep families and friends informed about what I was up to (if you’re interested, you can find the blog here). When I returned to Austria due to Brexit, I started my other big blog Floating the Boat (which you can find here), which is still ongoing and to which is mostly about sharing book reviews, thoughts and pretty much anything going through my mind.

So, why start another blog. I realised that one of the reasons I was barely blogging anymore was that my blog felt like my life – a dump of various topics, without a dedication to a certain one. Which is fine, but not necessarily inspiring. I’ve been meaning to write more about parenting and motherhood, but it felt out of place in my main blog, so I’ve decided to jump onto a new train of opportunities and dedicate this blog – Mama Bear Tales – entirely to motherhood, parenting and thoughts about these topics.

I do hope you enjoy reading along.

x, Anja

About Me

Hello dear mums who find this blog. My name is Anja and I am a proud mum of two wonderful children. In 2020 I became a mum for the first time, and it was wonderful, exhilarating, terrifying, anxiety-inducing, boring, overwhelming, aggravating, a dream-come-true, enraging, engaging, and so much more. Working with children has been a huge part of my life – even before I had kids, and it’s a topic I have read on and researched extensively.

I wanted a new place to share my personal experiences as a mother, as well as share books to read, lifestyle tips and talk about books I have read on parenting and life as a parent. Thank you for coming along on this journey with me, and I hope we can be friends.
