My story
I started blogging a long time ago. When I moved to the UK in 2015, I was looking for a way to journal my experiences, as well as keeping family and friends up-to-date of my shenanigans. Hence, my first blog Taste of Britain was born (you can find the blog here). When I returned, I set up a new blog where I shared everything from Harry Potter geekdom to writing to first mama experiences to book reviews. Floating The Boat became my creative dumping ground, and it is still an active blog (you can find it here).
However, I have wanted to create a space where I can unload every bit about motherhood and parenting that has kept me up over the past years (apart from my kids actually keeping me awake). Motherhood is such a ride, in both positive and negative ways, and I want to journal as much as possible about it, while also giving mums out there some support – if only letting them know that they’re not alone.
I became a mother in 2020 when my daughter was born amidst the COVID pandemic. While I eased into motherhood quite nicely, it was still a lot harder than I had anticipated. When my son followed in 2022, merely 21 months after my daughter was born, we were in for quite the ride. Having two under two is certainly no picnic, even though it also comes with plenty of perks (or so I’ve been told).
At the moment, I love in beautiful Tyrol with my husband and our two kids. We have a little flat with a garden and terrace and enjoy family life in the mountains.
My approach
While there are parental styles aplenty out there to condone, follow or judge, I find that the adventure of parenting is to navigate through your instinct, gut, help from others, and good literature to find you own way.
I am definitely an attachment mum at heart. My two babies still sleep in bed with me most nights, I breastfed long-term, and refrain from punishments like time-outs or methods like cry-it-out.

“Motherhood is the greatest adventure you will ever undertake.”
